Real Access Challenges, Solved Safely

Every property is different. Below are recent Oxfordshire projects that show how we plan, design and install scaffolding around the real constraints of a site: tight access, sloped gardens, live trading premises and tight deadlines included.

RESIDENTIAL

  • Oxford, Oxfordshire
  • Completed August 2026

Victorian Terrace Re-Roof Access

A two-storey Victorian terrace needed a full re-roof, but a narrow side alley and a very small rear garden left almost no room for a standard scaffold footprint.

RESIDENTIAL

  • Witney, Oxfordshire
  • Completed July 2026

Chimney Repoint & Repair Scaffold

A failing chimney stack on a steep-pitched roof needed safe, stable access for repointing and a new cowl, while a tight driveway limited space for material deliveries.

RESIDENTIAL

  • Abingdon, Oxfordshire
  • Completed 2026

Two-Storey Rear Extension Access

A large rear extension build needed continuous scaffold access across two storeys for bricklayers, roofers and window fitters over several months of works.

COMMERCIAL

  • Banbury, Oxfordshire
  • Completed 2026

Retail Unit Maintenance Access

A busy high-street retail unit needed shopfront and roof maintenance access without closing the store or blocking the public footpath during trading hours.

RESIDENTIAL

  • Oxfordshire
  • Completed 2026

Loft Conversion Scaffold Package

A loft conversion required scaffold access for a rear dormer installation and a Juliet balcony, complicated by a steeply sloped rear garden that made level platforms difficult.

COMMERCIAL

  • Didcot, Oxfordshire
  • Completed 2026

Temporary Roof & Scaffold Tower Hire

An emergency roof leak on a commercial unit needed immediate weatherproof cover plus internal tower access for repairs, all arranged at very short notice.

RESIDENTIAL

New

  • Kidlington, Oxfordshire
  • Completed 2026

New Build Self-Build Access Scaffold

A self-build project needed scaffold access from foundation-level brickwork right through to roof and gable-end finishing, on a site with a shared access track used by other trades.

RESIDENTIAL

New

  • Wantage, Oxfordshire
  • Completed 2026

Solar Panel Installation Access

A homeowner wanted solar panels fitted across two roof slopes, one facing a busy road, so the installers needed secure, compliant edge protection rather than just a ladder.

COMMERCIAL

New

  • Bicester, Oxfordshire
  • Completed 2026

School Roof Refurbishment, Half-Term Works

A primary school needed a full flat-roof refurbishment completed inside a single half-term break, with the scaffold kept well clear of a fenced play area for when pupils returned.

RESIDENTIAL

New

  • Carterton, Oxfordshire
  • Completed 2026

Render & External Wall Insulation Scaffold

A full external wall insulation and render upgrade needed scaffold wrapping three sides of a detached house, with monolift access for a cherry picker to also reach a section of the fourth side.

FAQs

The Challenge — A two-storey Victorian terrace needed a full re-roof, but a narrow side alley and a very small rear garden left almost no room for a standard scaffold footprint.

Our Solution — We designed a bespoke independent scaffold using narrow-width standards through the side alley, with a birdcage return over the garden to protect existing planting and a lockable stair tower for safe daily access.

The Result — The scaffold was erected in under a day with zero disruption to neighbouring properties, giving the roofing team full, safe access for the entire 9-day re-roof.

Erection Time

“Great work, the team popped up scaffold for some roof works in our terraced house. We have challenging access and a very small garden. The team were punctual, really friendly, and managed perfectly to work around our access challenges.”

The Challenge — A failing chimney stack on a steep-pitched roof needed safe, stable access for repointing and a new cowl, while a tight driveway limited space for material deliveries.

Our Solution — We built a fully independent, tied scaffold with an additional guard-railed platform at chimney height, and sequenced deliveries carefully to keep the driveway clear for the homeowner throughout.

The Result — The repointing team completed the repair safely and fully compliant with working-at-height regulations, and we struck the scaffold within 24 hours of sign-off.

Compliance

The Challenge — A large rear extension build needed continuous scaffold access across two storeys for bricklayers, roofers and window fitters over several months of works.

Our Solution — We designed a phased scaffold that could be adjusted in lift height to match the build programme, adapting it at each stage without a full dismantle-and-rebuild, saving the client time and cost.

The Result — The scaffold supported the entire 14-week build programme with zero access delays reported by the site team.

Continuous Access

The Challenge — A busy high-street retail unit needed shopfront and roof maintenance access without closing the store or blocking the public footpath during trading hours.

Our Solution — We installed a pavement-licence compliant scaffold with a protected, signed pedestrian walkway and debris netting, carrying out the erection outside of trading hours to avoid disrupting customers.

The Result — Maintenance was completed while the shop traded normally throughout, in full compliance with the local highway permit.

Trading Days Lost

The Challenge — A loft conversion required scaffold access for a rear dormer installation and a Juliet balcony, complicated by a steeply sloped rear garden that made level platforms difficult.

Our Solution — We used adjustable base plates and additional standards to level the scaffold across the sloped garden, and fitted a dedicated hoist gate to speed up materials handling.

The Result — The dormer and balcony works were completed safely on a stable, fully level platform despite the challenging ground conditions.

On a Sloped Site

“Jamie’s easy to approach and good as his word. He came on time, discussed requirements with the builders, gave a very competitive quote and put the scaffolding up as agreed. Having dealt with Jamie once I know he won’t let you down, 100%.”

The Challenge — An emergency roof leak on a commercial unit needed immediate weatherproof cover plus internal tower access for repairs, all arranged at very short notice.

Our Solution — We installed a temporary roof scaffold with waterproof sheeting over the affected area within days, alongside a mobile scaffold tower for internal access, protecting stock and equipment from further water damage.

The Result — The building was fully protected within 48 hours of the initial enquiry, preventing further damage while permanent repairs were arranged.

The Challenge — A self-build project needed scaffold access from foundation-level brickwork right through to roof and gable-end finishing, on a site with a shared access track used by other trades.

Our Solution — We agreed a delivery and access schedule with the site manager up front, then built a scaffold that could be extended in stages as the walls grew, keeping the shared track clear at all times.

The Result — The scaffold tracked the build from first lift to ridge height without a single access clash with other trades on site.

Access Clashes

The Challenge — A homeowner wanted solar panels fitted across two roof slopes, one facing a busy road, so the installers needed secure, compliant edge protection rather than just a ladder.

Our Solution — We fitted a lightweight tied scaffold with full edge protection along both slopes, plus a loading bay to get panels onto the roof safely without lifting them over the front boundary.

The Result — The installers worked to full working-at-height standards on both slopes and the system was commissioned on schedule.

The Challenge — A primary school needed a full flat-roof refurbishment completed inside a single half-term break, with the scaffold kept well clear of a fenced play area for when pupils returned.

Our Solution — We pre-planned the erection and strike dates around the school calendar, used a scaffold layout that kept the play area fully fenced off, and worked extended hours to hit the deadline.

The Result — The scaffold was up, used and struck entirely within the half-term window, with the site handed back safe and clear before the first day of term.

The Challenge — A full external wall insulation and render upgrade needed scaffold wrapping three sides of a detached house, with monolift access for a cherry picker to also reach a section of the fourth side.

Our Solution — We built a wrap-around independent scaffold with a clear, marked-out monolift bay so the cherry picker could work alongside it safely, coordinating timings with the render contractor.

The Result — Render and insulation teams had uninterrupted access on all four elevations for the full six-week programme.
